What I do for love?
Early this morning, my daughter crept to my side and whispered "Ina law-ay" (Mother, you're ugly!). I woke up and embraced my little girl. Her sweet expression of calling one ugly is her style of getting the attention saying, "I'm here wanting to be loved".
Making faces and saying you're ugly has become a sub-culture expression in the family but this in anyway does not destroy feelings of belongingness and love. Cuddling my kids despite them making faces with me and kissing them and whispering prayers full of love while embracing them is my heart felt expression of my undying love for them. By the way, my girl is already on her teen-age years and my son is already 20.
