Islam Correlates to Christian Faith

The Muslims are very controversial today. And when they say the Muslims often it appears to be all Muslims alike irrespective of cultural and economic conditions. Especially that there is terror in several places around the world and the ones blamed have been identified to be Muslims, there seems to be growing discussions whether Muslims love hostilities. If the conflict is between the Muslims and the Non-Muslims (assumingly we mean the Christians) does it neccessarily imply that Islam and Christianity have been based on conflicting foundations?
